ANTIPOLO — Veteran forward Dylan Ababou expressed his frustrations toward some of his teammates whom he felt showed no desire to win.

Ababou, though, opted not name which teammates he was referring to following another loss by Columbian, this time to NorthPort on Saturday at Ynares Center here.

“Meron din kasing ayaw manalo. Mahirap mag-drop ng names pero mahirap talaga manalo kapag may mga ayaw manalo,” Ababou said after a 118-101 setback in a game where the Dyip squandered 12-point lead in the third quarter and blew a golden opportunity to notch their first victory.

(Some of them just don’t want to win. It’s hard to drop names but it’s tough to win if there are people who don’t want to win.)

“Desire yon. Hindi ko alam kung anong nasa isip at puso nila eh. Bahala na si Lord sa kanila,” Ababou added.

(It’s desire. I don’t know what’s inside their minds and hearts. I leave them up to the Lord.)

The 31-year-old Ababou also rued not being able to contribute to his team after sitting on the bench the entire game.

“Siyempre ako di rin ako nakatulong sa game so medyo masama loob ko kasi hindi ako nagamit,” he said.

(I also feel a bit bad after I wasn’t able to help the team because I wasn’t used in the game.)

The former University of Santo Tomas star, who is a one-time UAAP champion and MVP, said he remains upbeat heading into the Dyip’s last three games.

“Laro pa rin, give our all pa rin. Bahala na si Lord sa result,” he said.

(We’ll just continue to play and still give our all and leave the result to the Lord.)

Ababou said he still saw some bright spots from the team despite taking its eighth loss.

“Meron pa rin namang positives. Dumikit kami tapos lumamang pa kami.”
