Player of the Week: Jio Jalalon’s impressive numbers fuel Magnolia
Jio Jalalon has been the motor fueling Magnolia’s surge in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Jalalon was at his best the past week when he led the Hotshots to the top of the standings with his all-around efforts against Blackwater and Magnolia.
Article continues after this advertisementThe former Arellano University ace nearly averaged a triple-double in his last two games, norming 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 9.0 assists on top of 1.5 steals to earn the Cignal-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week citation.
The 26-year-old Jalalon said he’s drawing strength from his firstborn Jiana Skyla, who turns one month 11 days from now.
He recorded his first triple-double in the PBA with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists in a 133-99 romp of Blackwater on Wednesday before collecting 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists in an 83-73 win over Alaska on Sunday.
The Hotshots, who have won five games in a row, are in first place at 7-1 with Jalalon, Romeo Travis and Paul Lee leading the way.
