Charo Soriano returns to sand court action as BVR goes to El Nido
Beach Volleyball Republic On Tour is heading into one of the most beautiful beaches in the Philippines for its eighth leg this year on Saturday at Lio Beach in El Nido, Palawan.
Eight women’s and eight men’s teams, including teams from Lio El Nido and Palawan State University, will compete over the weekend. BVR founder Charo Soriano will also return to action.
Article continues after this advertisement“I’m back in the game and this will be the first time playing beach volleyball again and it feels so good,” said Soriano, who last played in the Santa Open, as she spent much of her time behind the scenes as an organizer.
Soriano will reunite with teammate Bea Tan to form Perlas-1 for the sixth time this year and try to replicate their success in January when they won the Puerto Galera leg.
Dzi Gervacio and Roma Doromal will form Perlas-2, Mariel Legaspi and Mae Crisostomo will play under the banner of Air Force 1 while Coyah Abanto and Jen Acain will be Air Force 2.

The men’s division will include former UAAP champions KR Guzman and Ian Yee, Air Force’s Philip Nunez and Mike Abria, Army’s Joshua Barrica and Randy Flores, Manula Unicorns’ Neil Flores and Justin Santos, Wildcard’s Mikhail Shavrak and James Buytrago, and PSU’s Janry Corpuz and Allan Aborot.
The winners in both divisions will receive P50,000.
