Ular making a name for himself in MPBL
IMUS—Remember his name: Renato Ular, who hardly registered a blip when walking in to try out for a roster spot, is making his mark in the MPBL Datu Cup.
Late Friday night, the hardworking frontliner hit the biggest shot of his budding career in the Marikina Shoemasters’ thrilling 87-85 victory over the Bacoor Strikers at Imus Sports Complex.
Ular had a double-double performance 19 points and 15 rebounds. He capped his brilliance with the winning jumper in the last two seconds of the match as the Shoemasters improved to 7-10 (win-loss).
But Marikina has been in a roll and head coach Elvis Tolentino is beginning to like the character shown by his rising team that came back from 17 points down in turning back the Strikers (8-9), who now have lost four in a row.
