Search for new PH sports star continues

Carlos Yulo also earned his stripes in this event, before making Filipino gymnastics history last year.
With 3,553 athletes set to compete in the 2019 PSC-Batang Pinoy Games Mindanao leg, it isn’t a stretch to hope that a new Filipino sports star will be discovered.
Article continues after this advertisementThe event starts on Sunday at Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex here, with 90 local government units in Mindanao registering for participation across 20 sports.
“We’re finally ready after months of preparation,” Philippine Sports Commission Chair Butch Ramirez said. “We thank everybody, especially the local government units, for their support in the PSC’s quest to discover future Filipino sports heroes.”
Davao del Norte Governor Anthony del Rosario will deliver the welcome remarks during today’s 3 p.m. opening ceremony.
