NU crushes FEU for 13th straight, Ateneo gets 3rd seed

MANILA, Philippines—National University Bulldogs claimed its 13th straight win after blasting second seed Far Eastern University, 25-13, 25-23, 25-18, in the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball tournament Sunday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The top-seeded Bulldogs ended the elimination campaign with a 13-1 record while the Tamarawas saw their three-game winning streak end as they settled for an 11-3 slate.
Article continues after this advertisementAngelo Almendras scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs while Bryan Bagunas and James Natividad had 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Redi John Paler had 12 points for FEU.
In the first game, Ateneo ended the eliminations as the No. 3 team after taking down Adamson University 25-23, 30-28, 25-19.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Blue Eagles head to the Final Four holding a 10-4 record and will face the Tamaraws while the Soaring Falcons, at 9-5, will take on the Bulldogs in the semifinals.
Ron Medalla had 17 points for Ateneo while Ishmael Rivera and Luis Ligot finished with 16 and 14 points, respectively.
George Labang led the Falcons with 11 points.
