ONE: Geje Eustaquio knows what he’s up against in South Korean foe

MANILA, Philippines—With close to 20 fights under his belt throughout his professional career, Geje Eustaquio knows a good fighter when he sees one.
Eustaquio needed to see only one clip to convince himself that his next opponent Kim Kyu Sung can really fight.
“I saw just one video. He’s a striker, and he has great wrestling defense,” the Team Lakay star said.
Eustaquio has made a name for himself in the cage with his striking and he couldn’t help but be impressed with his foe’s stand-up game.

“Yes, his striking is on the same level as mine,” Eustaquio, the former ONE flyweight world champion, said.
“He is also a good striker, and most of his wins are by knockout. It’s going to be a tough competition, knowing South Korean athletes are also warriors.”
The 30-year-old Eustaquio is also giving up six inches in height against Sung but the disparity doesn’t seem to concern him at all.
In fact, Eustaquio sees Sung’s height advantage going to his favor.
“I think his weakness is his height,” said Eustaquio (11-7), who is coming off a failed title defense against Adriano Moraes in their trilogy four months ago. “He’s too tall to be in our division, which means he needs to really adjust to blend with us.”
Eustaquio hopes to redeem himself against Sung (9-2) in ONE: Enter the Dragon on May 17 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
