Filoil: La Salle eyes No. 4
La Salle shoots for a fourth win in five outings when it tackles Arellano on Thursday in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup at Filoil Flying V Centre. Game time is at 3:15 p.m. In the other seniors match at 1:30 p.m., Jose Rizal University takes on fellow NCAA school Emilio Aguinaldo College hoping to end a three-game slide. JRU has impressed with its pressure defense under new coach Louie Gonzales, who used to handle La Salle in the UAAP. Ateneo and Mapua battle in a juniors game at 10 a.m.
‘Beach’ World Tour starts
BORACAY—The Philippines’ Babylove Barbon and Gen Eslapor will begin their campaign in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Boracay Open here on Thursday even as Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons reunite in the hopes of shouldering the country’s hopes in the tournament. Matches start at 7:30 a.m. after the pairing of squads. The host country has four women’s teams in the main draw of the tournament organized by the Beach Volleyball Republic.
