Tokyo to stage ONE Championship’s 100th event
MANILA, Philippines—ONE Championship’s first Japan show last March turned out to be just the beginning of grander things to come.
Chatri Sityodtong, CEO and founder of ONE, on Sunday made the promotion’s second event in Japan official as he announced the biggest card yet.
Article continues after this advertisement“BREAKING NEWS: ONE Championship will celebrate its 100th show by throwing the biggest event in history (yet again!) on October 13 in Tokyo,” Sityodtong posted on his Facebook account.
“ONE: Century will feature a mega card of epic proportions with championship fights for the entire night,” he wrote.
Headlining the event are atomweight queen Xiong Jingnan and Angela Lee, who will figure in a much-anticipated rematch.
Article continues after this advertisementFilipino heavyweight champion Brandon Vera will also challenge Burmese champion Aung La Nsang for the light heavyweight belt while the fourth meeting between Team Lakay star Kevin Belingon and Bibiano Fernandes for the bantamweight crown is also slated in the card.
The Lightweight and Flyweight World Grand Prix will also transpire in Tokyo as well as the Kickboxing Featherweight Grand Prix Final.
Four Shooto Champion versus Pancrase Champion fights are also in tow.
“I plan to add a few more mega bouts to ONE: Century. I will also announce the names of the Shooto and Pancrase Champions shortly. Stay tuned for some big news! #WeAreONE,” Sityodtong said.
