Lions battle Generals in their ‘HQ’
It’s not enough that San Beda will be playing against Emilio Aguinaldo College in its home court. The Lions will also be facing a Generals squad coming off a huge upset over Lyceum.
And to top it off, San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez is worried about his team’s defense.
“We have so many things to do to check our defense,” he said. “That’s what we are working on right now.”
But the Red Lions should still be the favored squad when both teams clash on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tourney at EAC Gym.
Especially if Fernandez accomplishes his checklist.
“Stop the [Generals’] shooters and match the intensity of [John Paul] Maguliano,” Fernandez said.
New EAC coach Oliver Bunyi will take the underdog’s approach to the game: “They (Lions) are the team to beat. We have nothing to lose by going all out in this game.”
