By MANILA, Philippines – Francis Libiran gave a sneak peek of his creation for the Philippine national athletes to be worn during 2019 Southeast Asian Games opening ceremonies in November.

The renowned designer posted a photo of the Barong Tagalog, which featured a collar in red and blue and embroidery of the sun’s rays from the Philippine flag, for the Filipino delegation to wear for the opening parade at Philippine Arena on November 30.

“I’m so honored to design the official parade uniform of Team Philippines for the 30th Southeast Asian Games,” said Libiran in a Facebook post.

Libiran is featuring Philippine-sourced fibers and materials for the Barong Tagalog.

He thanked the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee for the chance to dress the athletes.
