Ott gives Azkals think-tank reason to consider him
Mike Ott continued to make a strong case for his inclusion to the squad for the World Cup qualifiers as he banged home a couple of goals as Ceres rolled to a 4-1 conquest of Mendiola FC on Wednesday night at Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas.
The winger, a member of the Azkals squad that played in the Asian Cup early this year, found the back of the net in the 17th minute, pouncing on a saved effort by Bienvenido Marañon, before two goals by Robert Mendy to close out the first half gave the Busmen a comfortable lead even with Allen Angeles scoring for Mendiola.
With less than three weeks before the Azkals open their campaign against Syria in Bacolod, Ott is looking to make the final 23-man squad of coach Scott Cooper.
