Motolite didn’t allow Air Force to get off the ground with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-23 ripping to register its third straight victory against a loss and keep the league leaders in sight.

Then PetroGazz finally adjusted to life without imports as it shot down erstwhile unbeaten PacificTown-Army, 25-15, 25-15, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Kat Bersola banged in 15 points as BanKo Perlas ripped Choco Mucho, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23.

The win pushed the Perlas Spikers to solo second spot at 4-2, while the Flying Titans absorbed their second defeat in four games.

The Angels dominated the Lady Troopers through the efforts of Jeanette Panaga and Jovielyn Prado, who scored 12 points each. Paneng Mercado added nine points.

“Maybe we are getting used to playing without imports and our teamwork is now working,” Prado said in Filipino. “Maybe now we are playing better because we are playing relaxed unlike in our previous games.”

She was referring to the topsy-turvy start for the Angels, who ruled the recent Reinforced Conference where they enjoyed the company of A-list imports Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson.

Now at 2-2, PetroGazz handed PacificTown-Army its first loss in three matches.
