SeaOil NBTC All-Star game set Sunday
MANILA, Philippines—The country’s finest high school players team up for one more game before moving up to the collegiate level.
The highly touted Jeron Teng will lead this year’s batch of players seeing action in the SeaOil National Basketball Training Center All-Star game at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Patterned after the McDonald’s All-American in the United States, the game gathers the top 30 players from all over the country.
Article continues after this advertisement“The game gives us the exposure that we need before going to college,” said Teng at the press conference announcing the event.
Among the players seeing action in the All-Star game are Thomas Torres of La Salle-Greenhills, John Jevin Baytan of Chang Kai Shek, Francis Abarcar and G-Boy Babilonia of San Beda and Jay Alejandro of Mapua.
“It’s a convenient way for college coaches to see the best players in one game,” said NBTC director Eric Altamirano.
