Top Filipino cue artist Rubilen Amit rises to world No. 3

MANILA, Philippines—Rubilen Amit, the first Filipino woman to become a world pool champion, claimed the third spot in the most recent World Pool-Billiard Association rankings.

Amit garnered a total of 10,573 points after gaining 5,323 points in the 2019 China Open and 5,250 in the 2018 9-ball World Cup.

China’s Yu Han and Chen Siming are No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

Yu is on top of the women’s division with 12,180 points while Chen is just ahead of Amit with 10,720 points.

The 37-year-old Amit is one of the countries top bets in the coming Southeast Asian Games.

So far, Amit has won 11 SEA Games medals, including six gold medals, since her first foray in the regional meet back in 2005.
