PBA set to hold referee tryouts

MANILA, Philippines—Looking to beef up its officiating rosters, the PBA is set to hold referee tryouts in the last week of October.

Application forms are available during office hours at the PBA Office, 186 E. Rodriguez Avenue, Bagumbayan, Quezon City or during the league’s games at Smart Araneta Coliseum. Deadline for application is Oct. 21

Tryouts are scheduled from Oct.22 until Oct. 25 from 9 am to 12 noon at JCSGO Gym in Cubao with international referee Bong Pascual and coach Joey Guanio administering the auditions.

Just like any physically exhausting job, the PBA requires its applicants to be at least 25-years-old, college level, at least 5-foot-8 in height for males and 5-foot-2 for females.

Those who could pass the tryouts could earn as much as P40,000 and game day allowances from P500 to P2,000.
