PBA Player of Week: Fajardo, Almazan lead the way for their teams
MANILA, Philippines—Big men June Mar Fajardo and Raymond Almazan stood tall above their competition as they starred for their respective teams this past week.
Fajardo was in his element, helping San Miguel Beer rally past Columbian Dyip, 113-107, on Sunday.
The reigning five-time MVP muscled his way to a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double that went with four assists as he teamed up with import Dez Wells to give the Beermen their fifth win in six outings.
Article continues after this advertisementAlmazan also notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds to power Meralco over Blackwater, 106-97, on Friday.
With their strong showing, the two went on to be named the PBA Press Corps Co-Player of the Week.
It marked the second straight time the citation was shared after TNT forward Troy Rosario and Alaska swingman Jeron Teng last week.

Almazan bagged his second Player of the Week honor this conference.
