South Korean teenager, Chinese fifth seed rule Asia U-14 tennis tourney

MANILA, Philippines — Thirteen-year-orld Oh Chang-yeong of South Korea overcame a shaky first set to subdue compatriot Chung Yun-seong, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, and rule the boys singles championship of the ITF/ATF Asia 14-under tennis championships at the Rizal Memorial tennis center.

China’s Cao SiQi toppled compatriot and top seed Li Yuenv, 6-3, 6-1, to rule the distaff side.
The top seed Oh, a rangy, bespectacled netter, had little going against the third seed in the opening set but grew stronger as the match progressed. Chung, meanwhile, slowly faded amid the afternoon heat.

Oh grabbed 450 ranking points along with the trophy. Chung earned 300 ranking points.
Fifth seed Cao also completed her impressive run in the tourney backed by the Philippine Tennis Academy, Mariposa Foundation, Dunlop Fort, Magnolia Purewater and Century Park Hotel.

The 13-year-old Cao made it a twin celebration as she claimed the doubles crown with Li, beating Koreans Bae Doo-hee and Seong Young-um, 6-3, 6-2.
