Lady Realtors auction off jerseys for COVID-19 frontliners
MANILA, Philippines — Nine players from the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors in the Philippine Superliga have also pitched in to help the country’s frontliners against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mika Reyes, Pam Lastimosa, Bang Pineda, Amy Ahomiro, Marge Tejada, Alex Bollier, Royse Tubino, Djanel Cheng and Rubie de Leon all donated their jerseys for auction at Every Little Thing Counts Facebook page.
Article continues after this advertisement“Tough times like this shouldn’t make us turn each other away. It should serve as an opportunity to reach out, to give back, and to be kinder than usual,” the team posted on its social media platforms Monday.
The campaign is spearheaded by volleyball star Jia Morado and partner Miguel de Guzman.The proceeds will be used to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for the country’s workforce who are at the forefront of the battle against the dreaded virus.
The Lady Realtors are the latest to join the cause following former La Salle ace Ara Galang and University of Santo Tomas Tigresses’ Eya Laure, Imee Hernandez, Maj Mangulabnan, Janna Torres and Det Pepito.
