Patrombon joins army
Jeson Patrombon, the 27-year-old Southeast Asian Games tennis gold medalist, has recently enlisted in the Philippine Army.
Patrombon thanked Philippine Army officers, including former Davis Cup teammate Elbert Anasta, for helping him enlist.
“It has been my honor to serve my country in the field that I know best, which is tennis,” Patrombon said in Filipino. “Now I have chance to prove my worth in a different level.”
He thus joined some 127 active national athletes who are also enlisted personnel.
