MANILA, Philippines — With gyms and training facilities closed during the extended Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, Edward Kelly still found no excuse not to work on his game.

Kelly, like every dedicated fighter determined to get better, kept working inside the confines of their homes.

The only difference is that Kelly has taken his training under quarantine to another level with his resourcefulness.

The Baguio native, who is currently in Bataan, used his creativity to build makeshift equipment like turning a worn out volleyball into a target bag.

“Avoid boring moments while on extended quarantine. Broken/punched volleyball to a target bag? What’s yours?” Kelly posted on his Instagram.

Kelly also welded recycled materials to come up with an improvised “training partner” which worked perfectly fine as he honed his boxing skills.

“Have a glance at my homemade training partner. Will I use this in my upcoming fight soon? For sure,” he said.

The 36-year-old Kelly is focused on getting back on track once it is safe for ONE Championship to resume staging events.
