Errol Spence wants ‘cash cow’ Manny Pacquiao next

MANILA, Philippines — As an undefeated welterweight champion, Errol Spence Jr. has leverage and options on who he wants to fight next.
And after adding the WBC world title to his collection following a split decision win over Shawn Porter last September, Spence has his sights set on the big prize.
Sure, giving Porter a rematch is one option for Spence, but he would rather take on on a bigger name—a legend for that matter—in Manny Pacquiao, who holds the WBA (Super) crown.
“I know [Porter’s] been calling for a rematch, but unfortunately that’s gonna have to wait,” said Spence (26-0, 21 KOs) in Showtime’s “All The Smoke” podcast co-hosted by former NBA veterans Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.
“You know, I’ve got a lot of bigger fish to fry. You’ve got guys like Manny Pacquiao that I’ve been, you know, trying to fight. He the cash cow right now. He’s the cash cow. So, that’s a guy I definitely want,” he added.
Pacquiao, who has also expressed his interest in a unification fight with Spence, has been on a tear following his highly-disputed loss to Australia’s Jeff Horn in Melbourne in 2017.
The 41-year-old Pacquiao is 3-0 since with a seventh-round stoppage of Lucas Matthysse and convincing victories over Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman.
But just like Spence, Pacquiao also has options which include possible bouts against other top welterweights in Terence Crawford, Porter, Mikey Garcia and Danny Garcia.
