/ 04:30 AM May 09, 2020

Junna Tsukii, one of the country’s national athletes in karate looking to see action in next year’s Tokyo Olympics, has joined the online teaching craze that has been popular among top athletes during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

“I decided to hold a karate online seminar … because I want [to help] children who can’t do karate [due] to financial and environmental difficulties,” Tsukii wrote in a Facebook post.

The 28-year-old Filipino-Japanese athlete is set to kick off a series of online instructional sessions this Sunday at 9 a.m. via her Instagram page (@junnatsukiiv888).

Tsukii, an Asian Games bronze winner and a Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, said she will be covering general karate and kumite practices “that can be enjoyed by one person.”

“We will practice [in] English and Japanese so that people from overseas can participate,” she added. INQ
