Will UFC savage leap be worth it?
UFC’S Dana White totally shunned the mighty coronavirus to celebrate with a live fight card in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday.
There was indeed a colorful presentation, rich in blood, stoppage and savagery.
President Donald Trump readily hailed the rush-rush event as a big success, calling it a great move in opening up sports after a forced clampdown caused by the wild coronavirus pandemic.
————————Sorry, but for the record, one fighter and two of his handlers were pulled out on the eve of the UFC show and taken straight to the hospital for treatment and isolation after they all tested positive for COVID-19.
Dana White would hear nothing of it. He proceeded to thump his savage breast.
Yahoo Sports, through a lead commentator, joined in the UFC festivities.
But World Boxing News dared ask a very pertinent question.
Was it worth all the big risks?

But what would stick out was the selfish manner UFC’s White, after subjecting veteran promoter Bob Arum to insane verbal pummeling, played blind to the real score in the fight against the raging pandemic.
Out in the action-hungry streets hereabouts, lonesome fans have tended to believe this could be the start of something good.These were the same fans who had scorned mixed martial arts as a throwback to barbaric gladiatorial days in the old Roman Empire.
————————Meanwhile, Arum did repeat an earlier caution, for other sports leaders to follow the example of the NBA and other prestigious international organizations to fervently stay clear, clean off the invisible killer virus.
Arum definitely could not be of help in the hunt for a vaccine.
He said he has instead worked out a deal to stage four-fight live cards, two or three times a week, in June.
