MANILA, Philippines—It took just hours for resellers to cash in on the hype and craze of the insanely limited Philippine-exclusive colorway of Michael Jordan’s fourth signature shoe.

With just 150 pairs released, some given to friends and family of the brand, the Air Jordan 4 was the much cop pair of the year, at least in the Philippines, as Jordan Brand opened its first standalone store in the country.

The “Manila” colorway is listed at $9,000 as the lowest asking price in StockX with one reseller putting in an absurdly tag of $600,000 for a size 8.5 pair of feet protectors.

To discourage resellers from profiteering, employees implemented a policy that everyone who bought a pair should wear their purchase out of the store.

The colorway was released in commemoration of the brand’s first store in the Philippines, a posh space located in Bonifacio Global City that opened its doors to the public on Thursday.

Sporting different hues of green, the shoe’s color scheme was in honor of the Philippines’ lush tropical climate that has been its main attraction for tourists.

Premium materials were used on the upper from ostrich and pebbled leathers to suede, while the tongue had the Jumpman branding with a small “Manila” tag on the midfoot.
