Creamline notches second win; Sta. Lucia-Cignal tiff up
ILOCOS NORTE—Creamline dominated in the third and fourth sets on Tuesday and trimmed Petro Gazz, 24-26, 28-26, 25-22, 25-20, to claim a share of the early Premier Volleyball League Open Championship lead at PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center in Bacarra.
New recruit Tots Carlos delivered key hits as she responded to Jia Morado’s feeds, as top hitter Alyssa Valdez struggled dealing with the Angels’ tough net defense as Creamline rose to 2-0 and tied Chery Tiggo.

And we came in prepared,” said Carlos, who came into the fray only in the last two frames and finished with seven hits. “If we had lapses, we have to fill in. And I’m always ready like what my coaches and my teammates remind me.”
Morado emerged as the game’s best player with 35 excellent sets, even as Valdez had 16 points, 21 digs and 18 receptions.
Meanwhile, Sta. Lucia battles Cignal HD on Wednesday as the Lady Realtors look for a second straight win in three games.
