Anderson Silva, Tito Ortiz to fight in boxing match in September
UFC legends Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz will square off in an eight-round boxing match on September 11 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, according to multiple reports Wednesday.
The fight, which will be broadcast by Triller PPV, which will also feature former Olympic gold medalist and 11-time world champion Oscar De La Hoya battling longtime UFC star Vitor Belfort.
Article continues after this advertisementPer reports, the Silva-Ortiz fight will consist of eight two-minute rounds.
Silva, 46, held UFC’s Middleweight Championship for 2,457 days, which is a promotion record. He defended the title a record 10 times.
Silva has fought in two previous boxing fights, returning to the ring this past June when he defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a split decision.

Ortiz last fought in the UFC in 2012, where he once held the Light Heavyweight Championship for 1,260 days and successfully defended the title five times.
