Generals out-hustle Chiefs in Filoil Preseason Cup

MANILA, Philippines – Emilio Aguinaldo College head coach Gerry Esplana had one challenge for his team: Out-hustle Arellano in every department.

The Generals responded as they hammered out a 76-65 victory over the Chiefs Wednesday in the 2012 FilOil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup at the San Juan Arena.

Cameroonian center Noube Happi led EAC’s charge with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

The Generals, who beat the Chiefs in every statistical category including a 50-35 rebounding edge, improved to 2-4.

Rocky Acidre struggled with just seven points for Arellano, which dropped to 2-3.

“We just put the pressure on him [Acidre] and luckily we’re able to [withstand] their run,” added Esplana.
