MANILA, Philippines—Paul Lee is slowly but surely getting back to his old self as he continues to fully recover from his shoulder injury he sustained in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup.

In Magnolia’s first game of the 2021 Governors’ Cup, Lee put up 16 points and three rebounds to help the Hotshots to a 114-87 win over Terrafirma Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lee said he’s still working to get into top shape but knows that his right shoulder feels better at the start of the import conference as compared to the previous tournament.

“It’s still getting better, my shoulder’s on its way to get perfectly healthy,” said Lee in Filipino. “I just have to continue the rehab.”

“Even though I don’t feel any pain right now, I still have to continue working on my rehab.”

Lee, 32, hurt his shoulder in the Philippine Cup semifinals series against Meralco but continued to play in the finals against TNT where Magnolia eventually lost in five games.

He added that the prolonged break between conferences, the Hotshots last played on October 29, helped him rest up and recover from the injury.

“The long break was really a big help because I was able to rest and get stronger,” said Lee.
