Friendship golf set next week
MANILA—Diplomats, Civic leaders, sports officials and members of the business community are joining the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Invitational Golf Tournament on June 13 at the Tagaytay Highland Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay City.
Organized by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation, the charity tournament coincides with the celebration of 36 years of diplomatic ties between China and the Philippines as well as the 100 years of Philippine sports, FCAAF golf committee chair Jeffrey Ng said yesterday at the PSA Forum at the Shakey’s UN Avenue in Manila.
A total of P600,000 in prizes will be dangled in the event which will feature competitions in Class A, B, C, D and ladies divisions.

Philippine Olympic Committee president Peping Cojuangco and PSC chair Richie Garcia are also expected to join the charity event, the proceeds of which will go to drug rehabilitation programs.
Consul Wu Zheng Peng welcomed the staging of the event, which he hopes will also strengthen and enhance friendship between the Philippines and China.
