MANILA, Philippines–Raymar Jose of Meralco and Barangay Ginebra’s Arvin Tolentino almost came to blows in the waning seconds of Game 1 of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals that tainted the Bolts’ very convincing win on Wednesday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With the outcome more than settled, the two got entangled in a Meralco offensive with around seven seconds left, and the duo took that all the way to the hallway leading to both teams’ locker rooms after the game.

The Inquirer sought the comment of commissioner Willie Marcial, who said that both will be verbally reprimanded “at the very least before (Friday’s) Game 2.”

Marcial said that his office will review the incident thoroughly Thursday afternoon and will determine whether fines will be levied.

“Much ado about nothing. I think maybe [Raymar] did deserve a technical foul there, but I don’t really understand the commotion to be quite honest with you,” said Meralco coach Norman Black.
