MANILA, Philippines — Meggie Ochoa and Annie Ramirez delivered two gold medals after ruling their respective divisions in women’s jiu-jitsu on Saturday in the 31st Southeast Asian Games at Dan Phuong Gymnasium in Vietnam.

Ochoa, a three-time world champion and Asian Games bronze winner, took down hometown bet Minh Duong Thi Thanh to complete a gold medal run in the women’s 48 kg.

She beat Khoon Yin Bless Yeap of Malaysia and Kanjutha Phattaraboonsorn of Thailand on her way to a gold medal.

Ramirez, a 2019 SEA Games gold medalist, successfully extended her reign after outlasting Thai Orapa Senatham in the final round of women’s 62 kg.

Ramirez also had a perfect run after overcoming Singaporean Fiona Toh, Vietnamese Tu Nguyen Ngoc, and Malaysian Cassandra Poyong.

Meanwhile, Carlo Angelo Pena settled for silver in the men’s 62kg after losing to Thai Suwijak Kuntong in the final.

It was Pena’s lone loss in the contest after beating hometown bet Van Thang Chan, Indonesian Sunardi Muliawan and Malaysian Chin Hong Thew.
