PBA: Blackwater beats NorthPort as JVee Casio takes charge anew

MANILA, Philippines–Blackwater claimed its second victory in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday night following a 97-90 victory over NorthPort at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

JVee Casio starred anew for the Bossing, finishing with 22 points and five assists while rookie Ato Ular added 17 points and five rebounds for the perennial whipping boys, who are now in the middle of the pack flaunting a 2-1 record.

Robert Bolick turned in 21 points and nine rebounds, while Jamie Malonzo chipped in a double-double of 14 and 13 for the Batang Pier who suffered their second-straight loss and dropped to 2-2.

FEATURED STORIES

The win was huge for Blackwater, a club that won just a single game last season. The Bossing now hope to get a streak going when it plays hapless Terrafirma Saturday next week.

NorthPort, meanwhile, looks to arrest its slide when it takes on 2-0 Meralco this coming Thursday.
