Cignal-Army clash takes lid off of PVL Invitational
Still licking the wounds of a sputtering finish the last time out, Cignal HD comes out for the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference willing to lay it on the line every night starting with the HD Spikers’ clash with Army at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Saturday.
“We’ve prepared hard for this conference and our goal is to win each game,” said Cignal coach Shaq delos Santos. “We’re going all-out every match since this is a single round robin eliminations.”
The HD Spikers swept their elimination round assignments in the last Open Conference but blew a 1-0 lead in the Final Four against Petro Gazz as the squad spearheaded by the charismatic Rachel Anne Daquis simply lost steam.
Cignal and Army, which will again have Jovelyn Gonzaga, battle in the 2:30 p.m. tournament-opener before Choco Mucho and Chery Tiggo tangle in the 5:30 p.m. game.
