NCAA suspends games anew this time due to Super Typhoon Karding

MANILA, Philippines—The NCAA was forced to make another postponement on Sunday, this time due to Super Typhoon Karding.

The Northern portion of Metro Manila, which includes Pasig, Marikina, Quezon City, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Manila, Navotas, Malabon, Caloocan, and Valenzuela, is currently under Signal No. 3 as of posting time after Karding intensified to a super typhoon from a severe tropical storm.

Other leagues like the Shakey’s Super League and the PBA have also decided to halt their games.

“We are suspending the games today due to storm signal no. 2 and will be rescheduled to a later date based on our NCAA guidelines,”  league vice chairman Efren Jose Suan said in a statement Sunday morning.

Jose Rizal University, which holds a 2-2 win-loss record, was set to face College of St. Benilde (3-1), which is coming off its first loss of the season at the hands of defending champion Letran on Friday.

San Beda and Perpetual Help, both holding similar 2-2 slates, were set for a clash in the second game.

The league will again release a new schedule after recently making a revision after San Sebastian’s postponement of games due to health and safety protocols.
