NCAA: Streaking Lyceum emerges on top after second week

MANILA, Philippines—Lyceum gained a share of the top seed two weeks into the NCAA Season 98 men’s basketball tournament.
The Pirates are currently the hottest team in the league with a three-game winning streak, moving into a first-place tie with College of St. Benilde, which beat them in their season opener.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Blazers, who were once the lone undefeated team in the league, lost their first game of the season at the hands of defending champion Letran, 81-75, on Friday that saw their three-game winning streak snapped.
The Knights are just half a game behind the league leaders with a 2-1 mark.
Arellano (3-2) fell to fourth in the standings after a crucial 70-67 loss to Jose Rizal University on Wednesday.

Mapua, preseason favorite and last season’s finalist, has failed to live up to its billing so far after opening the season with three losses in four games to sit in ninth place.
The Cardinals haven’t won since beating the Red Lions on opening day.
Host Emilio Aguinaldo College remains the only winless team. The Generals are 0-4.
The league on Sunday postponed its doubleheader due to Super Typhoon Karding.
