B.League: Kiefer Ravena returns but Shiga’s woes continue

MANILA, Philippines—Kiefer Ravena returned from a leg injury but Shiga still couldn’t snap out of its slump on Saturday in the Japan B.League.

In his first game back after missing nine games, Ravena started and collected six points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in the Lakers’ 79-68 loss to Alvark Tokyo at Arena Tachikawa Tachihi.

Former NBA veteran Jordan Hamilton had 33 points for the Lakers, who lost for the fifth straight time and fell to 4-18.

Matthew Wright also came back from an ankle injury but Kyoto lost as well.

Wright finished with six points and two assists as the Hannaryz took a 91-75 rout to the Toyama Grouses at Toyama City Gymnasium. Kyoto absorbed its seventh consecutive setback.

Also returning to action was Bobby Ray Parks Jr., who missed Nagoya’s last three games due to a concussion.

Parks had 11 points, built on three triples, seven assists and two steals to help the Diamond Dolphins’ 108-64 romp of Niigata Albirex BB at Dolphins Arena. Nagoya improved to 16-6.

Dwight Ramos, however, remained sidelined for the Levanga Hokkaido due to a sprained ankle. Levanga was blown out, 80-66, by the Ryukyu Golden Kings at Okinawa Arena.

Over at Toyohashi City Gymnasium, the Gunma Crane Thunders blew past San-En Neophoenix, 77-70.

Thirdy Ravena came off the bench and finished with seven points, three boards and two assists as San-En saw its two-game winning streak snapped.

In B2 action, Kobe Paras powered Altiri Chiba to a 98-66 win over the Kagawa Five Arrows at Takamatsu City Gymnasium.

Paras led Chiba’s second unit and tallied 18 points, one steal and one block.

His Filipino counterpart Roosevelt Adams, however, was not fielded by Kagawa, which dropped to 8-16.
