MANILA, Philippines—The PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals took an interesting turn on Tuesday as Bay Area, which trails Barangay Ginebra in the championship series 3-2, reactivated its spitfire guard Myles Powell.

Powell has since been reduced to a spectator following a left foot injury he sustained during practice ahead of the playoffs.

Powell was replaced by Andrew Nicholson, a 6-foot-10 big man, who eventually rolled his ankle in Game 3 of the best-of-seven duel.

He backstopped the Dragons for eight games, averaging 37.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest.

Once a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, Powell split the club’s elimination round with Nicholson by way of a special arrangement with the PBA.

It could be recalled that the American scorer dropped 50 against Rain or Shine during that phase.

Bay Area is looking to forge a winner-take-all clash when it takes on the crowd darlings this Wednesday at the fabled Smart Araneta in Cubao, Quezon City.
