Spikers’ Turf: VNS gets morale-boosting first win
MANILA, Philippines—VNS barged into the win column after blanking Vanguard, 25-18, 30-28, 26-24, in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference on Wednesday at Paco Arena.
The Griffins bounced back after suffering an opening loss to AMC Cotabato in three sets on Friday.

It was a gutsy win by VNS, which clawed back from an 18-24 deficit in the second set.
The third set saw VNS blow a 19-12 lead as Vanguard managed to knot the count at 24. The Griffins dodged a bullet after Pemie Bagalay nailed the game-clinching kill.

Abrot’s 18-point performance was put to waste as the Volley Hitters dropped to an identical 1-1 record with VNS.
