Mac Belo finally agreed to sign a one-year contract with Rain or Shine to begin the process of trying to revitalize what was once a promising career in the PBA.

Belo inked on the dotted line before coach Yeng Guiao and his staff, team manager Jireh Ibanes and player agent Edgar Mangahas in a photo posted on the Elasto Painters’ social media page on Wednesday, ending contract negotiations that came after being traded from the Meralco Bolts.

He is expected to immediately join Rain or Shine and also suit up in the ongoing PBA On Tour exhibition series that will run until July.

Rain or Shine acquired Belo from Meralco in exchange for Norbert Torres after a two-year run that saw the former Far Eastern University’s star minutes diminish.

Many believe that Belo has a strong chance to get his groove back, especially playing under Guiao, who is known for realizing the potential of many unheralded players.

“The rest is up to him,” said the Rain or Shine coach.

Belo will be the 13th player on the Elasto Painters for the On Tour after losing Torres and Mike Nieto, who was dealt to the Converge FiberXers in exchange for future draft picks in early-May.
