Chris Paul hurt as US Olympic basketball officials announce team to London
LAS VEGAS, Nevada — US Olympic basketball officials said Saturday that guard Chris Paul has a sprained right thumb.
The diagnosis was revealed on the day the Americans were due to name their final 12-man roster for the London Olympics.
Paul was hurt Friday on the first day of training camp, and an X-ray showed the injury.

Injuries had already cut the list of 20 Olympic candidates to 14 healthy ones, with such NBA stars as center Dwight Howard, guards Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade, and forward Chris Bosh — a third of the once likely Olympians — out of London consideration.
