MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday congratulated Gilas Pilipinas for bringing home gold from the Asian Games.

Gilas Pilipinas won the match against Jordan, ending a more than half a century drought for the Philippines.

“I know every Filipino is proud to be called one today. Congratulations, Gilas Pilipinas, on this incredible feat!” Marcos said in a Twitter post.

Marcos also congratulated Annie Ramirez for winning gold in jiu-jitsu.
