MANILA, Philippines–Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will make his PBA Commissioner’s Cup debut when TNT faces Converge on Saturday at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The Tropang Giga made the switch before the league-mandated 12 noon deadline Friday by putting the ex-NBA player in lieu of Quincy Miller, who suited up for their loss to the Magnolia Hotshots on opening day.

Hollis-Jefferson missed the PBA opener at Smart Araneta Coliseum and the East Asia Super League match against the Chiba Jets in Sta. Rosa, Laguna after dealing with gastroenteritis.

He previously played for TNT in the EASL opener last month in Japan against Chiba.

His scheduled PBA appearance will be Hollis-Jefferson’s first since leading the Tropang Giga to the Governors’ Cup crown.

A busy offseason saw Hollis-Jefferson perform well as Jordan’s naturalized player in the Fiba World Cup and the Hangzhou Asian Games, falling short of the gold to Gilas Pilipinas.

Miller had 7 points and 14 rebounds but the Tropang Giga fell 110-102 to the Hotshots.

TNT is hoping to get in the win column against Miller’s former team Converge, which lost by a big margin to Blackwater last Wednesday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
