Tabuena, Que battle for semis slot; Ababa, Lascuña also advances
Miguel Tabuena and Angelo Que, the most successful internationalists in the ICTSI The Country Club (TCC) Match Play field, will be trying to advance to the quarterfinals at each other’s expense after both coasted to round-of-16 victories Wednesday.
Tabuena, who owns an Asian Tour win this year, and Que, a three-time winner there, played just a combined 27 holes in bundling out Rupert Zaragosa and Ira Alido to arrange a dream clash Thursday even as top seed Jonel Ababa also advanced after a 5&3 win over Albin Engino.

Meanwhile, Antonio Lascuña turned back Zannie Boy Gialon, 4&2, to set up a clash with Marvin Dumandan for a seat in the semifinals. Dumandan needed 19 holes to trim Joenard Rates. —Musong R. Castillo
