Draws for 2024 Paris Olympics basketball tournaments
MIES, Switzerland– Below are the draws for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments at this year’s Paris Olympics.
In both tournaments, 12 teams are divided into three groups of four.
Article continues after this advertisementThe group stage will be played in a round-robin format, with each team playing all other teams in the group.

The countries placed first and second in each group, as well as the two best third-placed teams in the group phase, will qualify for the final phase.

Eight national teams from five different continents have already qualified as the host nation or based on their results at last year’s FIBA Basketball World Cup. These are France, Germany, Serbia, Australia, Japan, Canada, the United States and South Sudan.

The remaining four slots will be awarded to the teams that win the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournaments (OQT) held July 2-7, in Riga, Latvia, Valencia, Spain, Piraeus, Greece, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Olympic tournament runs from July 27 to Aug. 10.

WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT
The twelve countries that qualified — Nigeria, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United States, China, Japan, Belgium, France, Germany, Serbia, Spain and Australia — were distributed into the following three groups:
The tournament runs from July 28 to Aug. 11.
