Harlem Globetrotters to thrill PH crowd in November
MANILA, Philippines – The Harlem Globetrotters, world-renowned basketball entertainers, announced that their global tour will make stops in four Asian countries, including the Philippines.
The Globetrotters, founded in 1926 in Chicago, USA and now with over 350 performances around the world, will thrill crowds with their spellbinding basketball wizardry in Asia beginning in Manila on November 12.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Harlem Globetrotters are experiencing a new era of growth evidenced by their return to television for the first time in 40 years, signing deals with a variety of new global partners, and gaining multiple Emmy nominations. They also hosted the first-ever sports residency with 16 games in 10 days at East Rutherford, New Jersey last August.

“We are excited about our partnership with LK Entertainment, in that it allows for our strategic expansion and commitment to the many audiences that make up the Asia continent,” said Keith Dawkins, President of Harlem Globetrotters and Herschend Entertainment Studios, who was joined by streetballer ‘Wham’ Middleton and the high-leaping ‘Moose’ Weekes during a press conference at Novotel Manila.
“We believe that this is not only a tremendous opportunity for our live tour business but for the growth of other facets of the Globetrotters businesses including content, sponsorship and consumer products.”
Article continues after this advertisementFrom Manila, the American exhibition basketball squad will head to Malaysia for a November 14 show before performing at Britama Arena, Mahaka Square in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 16 and 17. The Globetrotters wrap up their Asia tour at Singapore EXPO Hall 5 on November 23 and 24.
