B.League: Ray Parks shines in Osaka win over Shiga

MANILA, Philippines—Bobby Ray Parks Jr. starred as Osaka Evessa remained unbeaten in the B.League on Sunday.

Parks fired 23 points to power Osaka past the Shiga Lakes, 86-79, at Shiga Daihatsu Arena.

The 31-year-old guard also collected seven rebounds, two assists and a steal to lead his team to a 2-0 start.

Brock Motum finished with 28 points while Kohei Tsuneta scored 14 for Shiga.

Parks, though, was the Filipino import to taste victory on Sunday.

Dwight Ramos’ Levanga Hokkaido fell to the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 75-63, Matsue City Gymnasium.

The Gilas Pilipinas mainstay finished with 18 points, five rebounds and two blocks but Levanga remained winless after two games. Coty Clarke had 24 points to lead the way for Shimane.

Kai Sotto and Koshigaya Alphas succumbed to Alvark Tokyo, 91-72, at Yoyogi Stadium.

Sotto finished with nine points, three rebounds, four assists and a block for the Alphas. Sebastian Saiz scored 18 for Alvark.

Matthew Wright’s Kawasaki Brave Thunders were blown out by the Akita Northern Happinets, 89-68, at Kawasaki Todoroki Arena.

Wright struggled with just two points as the Brave Thunders dropped to 1-1

Over at B2, Roosevelt Adams and the Yamagata Wyverns also lost by double-digits to the Veltex Shizuoka, 80-66.
