PBA Finals: Pogoy, TNT get dose of own medicine in Game 3 loss
MANILA, Philippines—TNT Roger Pogoy called a spade a spade following the Tropang Giga’s first loss in the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals at the hands of Ginebra.
The Gin Kings eked out an 85-73 win to avoid a 0-3 hole against the defending champions.
Article continues after this advertisement“We were shocked. We played good defense but we couldn’t make our triples and shots. That’s just how it is sometimes. We’ll go back to the drawing board,” said Pogoy in Filipino.

“Their defense was so great tonight, they made good adjustments. That’s how a series works, sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad.”
After clamping down on defense in the first two games of the finals where it limited Ginebra to under 90 points, the Tropang Giga had a taste of their own medicine in Game 3 as the Gin Kings held them below 80 points.
Article continues after this advertisementPogoy was among the few bright spots for TNT in the loss but even he struggled to find his rhythm. He finished with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and four steals but shot just 33 percent from the field.

The 32-year-old swingman expects Sunday’s Game 4 to be even tougher
“We should be thinking that Game 4 will be extremely hard,” he said.
“If we thought this was hard, it’s about to get harder in Game 4. It’s on us on how we’ll play and monitor that game.”
