The Lady Eagles claimed solo third at 2-1 following a straight-set win over the Lady Tamaraws, 25-20, 25-18, 25-21, on Friday night.
Alyssa Valdez tossed in 12 points to lead the Lady Eagles, who have also been relying on the strong plays of Fille Cainglet, Dzi Gervacio, Gretchen Ho and Ella de Jesus.
But the Lady Eagles brace for a tight duel against the Rising Suns, the newcomers giving the rest of the field a tough fight.
The Rising Suns came close to pulling off an upset over the Lady Stags, but dropped the deciding frame in a 17-25, 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 15-10 decision on Friday.
Sandra delos Santos and Honey Tubino have been leading the Rising Suns along with Thai reinforcements Sutadta Chuewulim and Kunbang Pornpimol.
Thais Jeng Bualee and Utaiwan Kaensing have also been pivotal in the Lady Stags’ bid along with former MVPs Suzanne Roces and Nene Bautista.
