MANILA, Philippines — Eya Laure finally ended her hiatus in the pro scene and debuted in style for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Laure, who missed the action for more than a year after her departure with Chery Tiggo, opened her new journey with 11 points in their 25-17, 25-23, 25-20 sweep of Akari on Saturday in front of an ecstatic crowd at FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
“I missed this crowd. And of course, playing in the PVL is really different now. The level is much higher, especially with so many reinforcements across teams, not just us. I’m just really happy to be here with Choco Mucho and to be playing under coach Dante’s system,” Laure said in Filipino.

Despite her impressive comeback, Laure rated her first game as a Flying Titan two out of 10.
“I just got here, and honestly, I’m still not fully familiar with the system yet. But I really want to learn it, and I’m still in the adjustment period under coach Dante’s system,” she said.
But for the former University of Santo Tomas star, once she and the team get on the same page, they have a chance to win it all.
“I truly believe that once I fully understand it and everything starts to jell, we can build something special and compete for the title with Choco Mucho,” Laure said.
Laure chose to sign with Choco Mucho after her 33rd Southeast Asian Games stint with Alas Pilipinas, with Sisi Rondina convincing her to reunite again after teaming up for Alas in 2024 and their UAAP finals appearance in 2019.
“After the SEA Games, I told myself to slow down for a bit. Ate Sisi was really the one who was always there. After the SEA Games, that’s when I talked things through, including with my manager. I had committed myself to the national team, and my goal was really to condition myself for the upcoming SEA Games,” she said. “Unfortunately, some things happened that were out of our control. But that’s God’s plan—you can’t avoid it. Even then, I stayed committed, and in other ways, I still want to help, especially if it’s for the country.”
Rondina and Laure combined for 27 points in their on-court reunion.
“Even with the difficult situations, I knew Ate Sisi would bounce back. Knowing her, she’s not the type to give up on a game. I really missed that. It’s a big deal having her back beside me again, playing diagonal,” Laure said.
